We are looking for a dynamic Field Application Scientist based in the US, East Coast to work closely with our customers and the Genestack sales team to provide pre-sales support of our platform.

The Field Application Scientist will work alongside the sales team providing scientific and technical presentations to promote our products and services, both to new and existing customers.

Other key responsibilities will include providing marketing input for product development, coordinating the delivery of services by departments within the company, and proactively managing customer accounts in concert with the sales team.

Due to the high customer-facing nature of the role, it requires someone with excellent interpersonal skills and a willingness to travel up to 30% of the time to locations around the US, East Coast.


  • M.Sc. or Ph.D. in Biology, Pharmacology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Computer Science or related fields.
  • Experience in the use of informatics software in life sciences gained through industry or academia.
  • Peer-reviewed publications in relevant fields.
  • Practical knowledge of Bioinformatics NGS analysis
  • Technical knowledge in one or more of the following would be a plus: bioinformatics, Java, JS, Python, SQL, Solr, Docker, Unix/Windows/Linux.
  • Technical knowledge around grid computing, clusters and parallel data processing.

About you

  • Sophisticated customer facing skills; experience of delivering formal technical presentations to scientific audiences.
  • Experience in project management, technical consulting, and of delivering technical training preferred.
  • Highly self-motivated with ability to work on own initiative as well as part of a larger team.
  • Ability to travel overnight.
